About us

The story of how Origin Known came to be started in 2018 when a friendship was formed over a shared love and passion for retail therapy and the North Devon coast. When Vicky relocated to India, leaving behind a career, friends and family the two ladies saw an opportunity.

Combining Tanya’s 20+ years in retail with Vicky’s newfound time on her hands, their mission is to search out special products and meet the people who were involved at each stage of the production process. The items have all been ethically sourced, sustainably produced and are intrinsically beautiful – delivered especially for you.

It’s fundamental to us that each person involved with the production process is treated well and is paid a fair price for the work they do. The beauty of Vicky being on the ground is she is able to personally visit the sites and meet the people.This has been a hugely rewarding process and she has met some truly inspirational people and learned many new skills!

We are still finding our feet and have had some adventures on the way, however we are delighted to share with you the first partner we want to introduce to the UK.

Tribal Brew is the brainchild of Shivani, whose family have been growing coffee in Karnatika, India for generations. Keen to leave her own mark on the family firm she has launched a retail business, delivering her coffee across India.
